DESCRIPTION: APW - Hamilton, Grade 4992B, World War II era military "Master Navigation Watch," 22J, 16S, chrome-plated base metal OF original case with contract markings to rear, black metal GCT (Greenwich Civil Time) 24 hour dial, SW-hack-set with sweep-seconds, mono-metallic balance with Elinvar hairspring, fully capped lever escapement, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#4C62243. An excellent example, complete with its original box bearing label with serial number marking correctly matched to the case rear. This movement serial number is listed in the Hamilton factory ledger as having been sold May 17th, 1944.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good hacking function, virtually mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, few very small micro-fine scratches, winding wheels with few small specks of oxide; excellent dial with small surface spot near 34 minute marker, few small contact marks elsewhere; excellent hands; case shows very little wear, some fine scratches, no dents or dings, superb contract marking detail, rear circular finish remains intact; tight bow with some short scratches at lower portion of rear, crown shows very little wear; plastic crystal with few fine scratches, small abrasion above center; box shows moderate wear and some soiling.
